CE hour requirements vary by state and license type; enter your specific state board requirements.
Many states (e.g., California CSLB, Florida DBPR, Texas TDLR) mandate sub-category hours for safety, law, and business practices within the total CE requirement.
Sub-category hours (safety, law/code) are counted as part of the total required hours, not in addition to them.
Effective remaining hours accounts for the worst case: you may need more than the general gap if sub-requirements are unmet.
Courses are assumed to be uniform in length equal to the average hours per course entered.
Carryover of excess CE hours into the next renewal cycle depends on state rules and is not modeled here.
